Cosmetic Grade French Green Clay - 50g

Green Cosmetic Clay also known as Illite or French green Clay is rich in minerals which include - mineral oxides, magnesium, calcium, potassium, dolomite, silica, manganese, phosphorous, silicon, copper and selenium.

The green clay has a very fine soft texture with a molecular structure noted for its adsorbing properties. Making it perfect for detoxifying the skin by drawing out excess sebum (oil) and impurities from the pores, yet it is suitable for all skin types.

Widely used for its skin care benefits, French Green Clay is a favourite in clay face masks and body wraps.

Combining powder clay into our gentle lavender hydrosol, as an alternative to distilled water provides the skin with moisture while introducing the beneficial therapeutic values associated with the plant, providing toning, healing(scaring) and restorative properties.

The gentle use of our aromatic herbal hydrosol at the final cleansing will rebalance the pH of the skin.

Things to consider when using Clay Powder: A skin patch test should always be carried out when using the product for the first time.

As the clay dries on the skin it may create a tingle, irritating sensation (an itch) or light redness, this is usually normal and is not harmful.

Caution: Natural colour pigments of some clays may stain fabric – always protect clothing.

Unused Clay must be kept dry at all times.

Do not use metal spoons or bowls for preparation. Preferred materials would be glass or ceramics, with wooden spoons and/or glass stirrers.

Use glass, ceramic, wooden containers or cardboard cylinders for storage.
